Hailing from the planet Kashyyyk, Wookies are famously hairy creatures from the Star Wars universe, the most famous of which being Chewbacca.
Loyal and tough, Chewbacca was the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, alongside the infinitely cool Han Solo. Today we’ll be talking about the Wookie strain, a strain as strong as Chewbacca himself and that’s sure to send you floating into space!
It’s also known as Chewbacca Cookies, Chewbacca strain, Cocoon Cookie, Cookie Wookie, Dirty Wookie, Girl Scout Wookies, Purple Wookie, Purple Wookie Strain, tk91 strain, and Wookie Kush.
The Wookie strain is a bona fide ‘dankenstein’ meaning that it’s a hybrid of a few different dank strains. In fact, it’s an indica dominant hybrid that tastes amazing as well as being incredibly potent.
This is all thanks to its parent strains, which we’ll talk about in more detail below, but it does hail from the genetic line of Cookies which, if you’ve tried it before, you know how delicious they are!

This is somewhat of a mystery, but Tierra Rojo has taken credit for this strain in the past. But clearly, whoever created this hybrid knew what they were doing.
Combining the potency of Chemdawg 91 with the flavor of Girl Scout Cookies and the trichome production of The White was a stroke of genius! And no mean feat either.
The fact this is a clone-only strain with little to no (genuine) seeds only adds to the allure of this strain but unfortunately, makes it more expensive too.

Wookie is a shade of light green with buds that are resinous and sticky. These buds are also deceptively heavy, and a few grams go a long way. Good news for your wallet!

Compared to average Indica-dominant strains, Wookie has a pretty high percentage of THC. Average Indica-dominant hybrid strains have around 13% THC, while Wookie has about 18%.

Since Wookie is a close-only strain, you can’t purchase Wookie strain seeds. But those who do find themselves with seeds for this strain should be those who are used to growing cannabis, as you won’t feel the full effects of the strain if grown incorrectly.
As it’s an Indica-dominant strain, Wookie grows tall and throws the rest of the plant in shade. It’s recommended to top the plant early.
Strain Flowering Time
Always be wary if you see somebody claiming to have Wookie seeds for sale online, as they’re unlikely to be the real thing. If you are able to grow this strain, you can expect it to flower in about 7-10 weeks.
But for Wookie to be as potent as it can and to get the best flavor you should let it flower for 10 weeks. Once harvested you’ll need to fully dry and cure it.
Strain Yield
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on Wookie then you’ll find yourself with a moderate to high yield, but just like beginners should be wary of smoking Wookie, if you’re new to growing it may be best to get some more experience under your belt before you attempt to grow this strain.
