Ultimate Purple Strain

Ultimate Purple is an Indica/Sativa hybrid with a high THC content of 18 – 21%, and a CBD level of 0.49 – 0.6%. It has a long genetic history but put simply it was created by combing the genetics of Purple Urkle, Purple Kush, The Purps, and Grape Ape.

Purple Urkle is a pure Indica strain of cannabis with a very high THC level of 18 – 20%, and a high CBD level of up to 0.42% to match. It has a fruity taste, with grape being the most prominent flavor.

Because of how sting this strain is, smokers will feel the buzz almost instantly after smoking and will enjoy a euphoric high for hours after.

Purple Kush is another 100% Indica hybrid, which itself is very rare. It is one of the most popular strains of cannabis amongst smokers due to its high THC potency of 24%, and the high that makes smokers happy and giddy, which can last for hours.

It also relaxes the body to relieve pain and stress. Like Purple Urkle, this strain tastes of grape as well as sweets or candy.

The Purps is once again a very THC-dominated strain, with levels as high as 28%. It also contains quite high levels of CBD of 0.29 – 0.88%.

This strain has a more nutty flavor than the previous ones, though the effects are largely the same, making smokers feel, giggly, talkative, euphoric, and happy.

The final parent of Ultimate Purple, Grape Ape, is another THC-dominated strain that is very popular in the cannabis world. Though people are unsure who made this Indica-based strain or where it came from, smokers love the effect that it has on their minds and bodies.

Due to its Indica qualities, it relaxes the muscles and makes smokers feel calm, and boosts their mood.

The extensive genetic history of Ultimate Purple is what gives this strain all of its beneficial effects that make this one of the most loved and used strains in the cannabis industry.

Origin

Ultimate Purple was created by BC Bud Depot in the USA. They strive to make the best marijuana seeds in the world, and this Ultimate Purple, they might have done just that.

With Ultimate Purple, they wanted to combine all of the best features of the many purple strains to create one strain that has it all.

Through a careful combination of genetics, they were able to take the great taste, fast growing time, and hard-hitting effects from other strains and put them into Ultimate Purple.

Strain Appearance

Unsurprisingly for a purple strain, this bud is very purple. In fact, there is hardly any of that typical forest green of cannabis on these buds. Instead, mixed in with the striking purple, are orange flecks that give this strain a very unique and recognizable look.

Covering almost the whole surface of the bust are white crystal trichomes, which look like a layer of fresh snow. These trichomes make this bud very sticky, though it is not too hard to pull apart or use.

Strain Flavor

Like nearly all purple strains, the most recognizable flavor found in Ultimate Purple is grape. There are other sweet flavors mixed into it like honey, berries, and candy.

You may also notice more earthy undertones in the bud like wood, pine, and dirt, though this does not overpower the delicious sweet taste.

Strain Aroma

Ultimate Purple is quite a stinky strain, but while cannabis usually has an overpowering scent of diesel or dirt, this strain smells a lot sweeter. When smoking it you can really smell the grape aroma, as well as other berries and sweet scents.

This makes this an enjoyable strain to smoke indoors as it will not make your home smell too much like typical cannabis.

If it is safe to do so, this strain could even be smoked outside as the smell may not be recognizable to passersby (though you should still smoke it away from people just in case).

Strain Cannabinoids

Ultimate Purple is filled with cannabinoids. As the exact amount of each cannot be specified as it would depend on the growing conditions of the strain, these are just the average amounts that you may find in Ultimate purple.

  • THC – 18.67 – 21.33%
  • CBD – 0.49 – 0.6%
  • CBC – 0.34 – 0.62%
  • CBG – 0.21 – 1.1%
  • CBN – 0.04 – 0.15%
  • THCV – 0.45 – 1.08%

Strain Terpenes

Ultimate Purple is filled with several terpenes, but there are three dominant terpenes. The first is Humulene. With a spicy and earthy taste and aroma, this terpene promotes a calm body and mind when smoked. It will usually be found in strains with a high THC potency.

Humulene has a few medical benefits as it can act as an anti-oxidant as well as an anti-inflammatory.

The next terpene is phellandrene. This is quite an odd terpene as it usually is a secondary terpene rather than a dominant one.

Phellandrene can be very quickly absorbed into the body, creating an energy boost for the smoker as well as reducing any pain that the person may feel.

Phellandrene is a very effective pain reliever, and also has many antifungal and antibacterial properties. Though not used much in Western medicine, it has been a staple in Eastern medicine for a very long time.

The final most dominant terpene in Ultimate Purple is caryophyllene. This terpene is the only one that can act on the body’s endocannabinoid system to reduce pain and provide near-instant relief.

When smoked it may give the cannabis a spicy flavor similar to that of black pepper.

Strain Side Effects

Like with all strains, there is a good and bad side to Ultimate Purple. On the positive side, it has been known to give smokers a euphoric feeling, making them feel energetic, talkative, and giggly.

Because of this, it is a very good social strain. It can also make a person feel more creative. When the high begins to wear off, the smoker will feel relaxed, stress-free, and sleepy

For the negative effects, a smoker may experience a rapid heartbeat, which may also lead to panic attacks if the smoker suffers from anxiety.

This is because Ultimate Purple gives the smoker an energy boost very quickly, which can be overwhelming to a person with a panic disorder.

If smoked too late in the evening, this strain may also cause slight insomnia in the smoker, as they could struggle to calm down on the high.

Medical Benefits

Ultimate Purple is an excellent strain to choose if a person is suffering from chronic pain, or has aches and pains after a long day at work.

Almost all of the terpenes in this strain contain anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, which act quickly on the body to provide near-instant relief.

As Ultimate purple makes a person feel more energetic, once pain-free the smoker is able to go out and move around easily, enjoying their time without any aches.

Due to its mood-boosting benefits, Ultimate Purple is also useful in treating the symptoms of depression and PTSD, as it can make the smoker happy, giddy, and social.

It cannot be used as a cure for these disorders but is useful if the symptoms get overwhelming.

Strain Review

Ultimate Purple gives the smoker a strong and potent high. A euphoric and uplifting cerebral head high will strike you first, leaving you with creative inclinations and significant mental and physical pain relief.

After a few hours of an energetic high where you will feel talkative and social, you will gradually feel the typical Indica effects creeping in.

This may leave you feeling couch-locked, but you will be relaxed and stress-free. Once you begin to come down off the high, you’ll begin to feel very sleepy.

Ultimate Purple will then let you fall into a deep and restful sleep, and keep you pain-free so that you do not wake up multiple times in the night.

As Ultimate Purple creates an intense and energetic mind and body high, it is not recommended for people who suffer from anxiety or panic disorders.

This strain will cause the smoker’s heart rate to rise rapidly, which can trigger panic attacks in some people with these disorders.

The same may happen due to how energetic the smoker will suddenly feel. For people with mood disorders like depression or PTSD though, Ultimate Purple may be very beneficial to them by reliving some of their symptoms.

Strain Grow Info

Strain Seeds

Ultimate Purple seeds are sold by BC Bud Depot and can be bought online. You may also be able to find them in some dispensaries, though this is not guaranteed.

Strain Flowering Time

Ultimate Purple will take 56 – 63 days to flower, and you can harvest the bud after 72 days.

Strain Yield

How much bud you get from Ultimate Purple depends on where you are growing the plant. For this strain though, it is recommended that you grow it indoors as you will get a very small yield from growing it outside.

When grown outdoors, your yield will only be < 0.5 Oz/Ft² (< 150 g/m²). If grown indoors, you will get a much larger yield of 5 – 10 Oz/plant (~ 300 g/plant).
