Jedi OG Strain Review

The Jedi OG is a “force” to be reckoned with. It wasn’t created a long time ago, and it wasn’t developed in a galaxy far, far away, but this powerful marijuana is called OG for a reason.

Jedi OG Strain Review

I would say that this is the end of all of my Star Wars jokes, but I can’t promise you that. Instead, let me show you why this strain is such a prodigy.

Jedi OG is also known as Jedi Kush, and it is considered royalty in the world of marijuana. It’s 100% Indica strain, so you can expect physical highs, mental relaxation, and continuing feelings of elatedness.

Its THC content is between 19% and 25%, meaning there is more potent cannabis, but Jedi OG is still considered to be moderate.

What Is Jedi OG Strain?

Fortunately for this Jedi, we already know their parentage. Jedi OG was bred from SFV OG Kush and Death Star (oh yes, the references continue!), both of which are great for sleeping and have a happy and calming influence on their users.

They both also cause dry eyes and dry mouth, which means their “chosen one” offspring does have a bit of a “dark side.”

How Was Jedi OG Developed

SFV OG stands for San Fernando Valley OF, and it has one of the shortest lineages in the cannabis world, as it is only three generations away from Thai, Nepalese and Afghani origins. Death Star has a similarly short genetic lineage as it is only four generations away from the same three origins.

This means that Jedi OG is one of the few marijuana that can boast how close it is to its wild ancestors.

Jedi OG has a tangy and woody flavor, with a skunky kush aftertaste and a strong touch of fuel. Dotted in the middle of all these darker flavors is the delicate lightness of citrus.

There are some die-hard fans of this mixture of flavors, but it is an acquired taste. Most people prefer the effects to the taste.

Odor And Flavor

Jedi OG is pungent! You might even say that “pungent” is not a strong enough word to convey just how powerful the smell is.

You can expect a majority fragrance of skunk with a matching intensity of diesel, while shy notes of pine try to join in the party. When the nugs are broken up, that pine scent becomes stronger, creating a less forceful odor.

No matter what type of Jedi mind trick you try to pull, you cannot hide with a freshly lit Jedi OG around.

Physical Appearance

If you manage to grow Jedi OG correctly, you should end up with an olive-green color to the delicate buds, and weaving through those greens, you’ll have purple or even lavender hues.

There will be an abundance of trichomes, which dot through the foliage in a thick frosty white, and you should find sticky colas which hint at the deep euphoric effects yet to come.

Grow Info

Jedi OG grows so well that it doesn’t matter if you are attempting to produce it indoors or outdoors. You should expect a height of 4 to 6.5 feet, but remember that the Jedi OG grows pretty wide, so that you will need intermodal spacing for the heavy flowers.

You might see some stems beginning to break, so I recommend starting off their growth with enough support to avoid this. You will also want to start stress training early while using the Sea of Green method of growing.

If you are growing indoors, you can expect a harvest after 60 to 65 days with a yield of around 12 to 14 oz per square meter. If your Jedi OG is grown outdoors, then you should be ready for a harvest in 8 to 9 weeks with a yield of around 14 oz per square meter.

Jedi OG is a super powerful cannabis if you want to get a physical high. It starts off slow and creeps up the intensity after around 10 minutes until your body is completely relaxed and your mind is clear.

When you have reached this clarity, you can expect to gain a buzzing high, which doesn’t quite match the physical high.

You will feel the tension leave your body, and your mind start to calm as a tingle of happiness warms your soul. This happiness is less gentle and more euphoric for some people, but either way, you won’t get a crash or a sense of lethargicness.

Side Effects

You will probably get a dry mouth, so make sure you have plenty of water, but that is as bad as it really gets with Jedi OG. If you smoke too much, you might become dizzy or paranoid, so make sure you take the day slowly.

If you start to feel your eyes getting itchy or if you begin to get a headache, then I suggest you slow down and drink some water to get your levels back to the chilled-out state they should be.

Medical Appointments

Jedi OG is great at helping people with depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pains, and muscle spasms. Depending on the kind of gastrointestinal problems you might be experiencing, Jedi OG could help with that too.

If you have a low appetite or find it hard to sleep, then the after-effects of Jedi OG will both make you hungry and sleepy, so you can get a little extra help from our loyal friend.

Although the chance of becoming paranoid is low, I wouldn’t recommend Jedi OG to anyone who has this mental illness.

Similar Strains

If you want to find some more weed strains that can relax you into sleep, then I suggest Tahoe OG Kush, Granddaddy Purple, and God’s Gift.

If you want a larger collection of physical high strains, then I suggest Platinum OG, Northern Lights, and Harle-Tsu (also known as Harlequin Tsunami).

Strain Cannabinoids

Jedi OG comes from Death Star and SFV OG Kush. Death Star was bred from Sour Diesel and Sensi Star, which is why Jedi OG has its diesel taste and calming abilities. Whereas SFV OG Kush was bred from SFV OG and Afghani, which is why Jedi OG is so powerful.
