With state-of-the-art technology and modern techniques, Phat Panda is at the forefront of the ever-expanding cannabis world; they now produce over forty different strains, and show no signs of slowing down!

Although their scale of production is brilliant for the company and the industry, as a consumer it may be quite overwhelming to be faced with so many options. From their flavor to their medical benefits, each strain has different qualities.

There are almost too many strains to choose from, so in this article we have narrowed the list down for you to a random selection of four strains.

This article will explore these best-selling strains and tell you everything about them, so that you can get closer to finding the strain that suits you best.

1. AFGOO X G13

Strain History

Genetic

This hybrid strain is a combination of the Afgoo (also known as Afgooey and Afghooey) strain and the G13 strain. The Afgoo strain was made by combining the Afghani No.1 strain with the Maul Haze strain.

Origin

As you have probably guessed from the name, this strain leads back to Afghanistan.

Strain Appearance

As it’s a hybrid, the appearance of this strain can vary. The Afgoo strain has bright green leaves and a range of bud shapes, while G13 is a lighter green and its pistils are orange.

Strain Flavor

G13 and Afgoo combine to give an earthy, piney taste, with notes of fruitiness and spice. Some people say they detect a hint of mandarin flavor, too!

Strain Cannabinoids

In this hybrid, the levels of cannabinoids can differ.

THC in Afgoo can range from 18%-28%, while G13 averages a THC content of 20%. Thus, on average, there’ll be around 21.5% THC.

CBD in Afgoo averages 0.4%, and G13 is around 0.25%, so you’ll likely get 0.33% CBD.

Strain Terpenes

Myrcene is present in both Afgoo and G13, so is also found in this strain.

Strain Side Effects

When smoked, Afgoo x G13 can benefit you with a sensation of euphoria and increase your creativity. Negative side effects include a slight dry mouth, appetite gain and heightened anxiety.

Medical Benefits

Aside from the euphoric feeling, this strain is effective at numbing, so can often be used for pain relief.

Strain Review

Overall, this fruity cannabis strain will numb your pain and its high THC content will likely provide a euphoric high. However, if you know you are prone to anxiety, it could potentially suit you to find a strain that does not increase anxiety.

Strain Grow Information

This strain is voted to have a growing difficulty of medium level.

Strain Flowering Time

8-9 Weeks

Strain Yield

2. Berry Sour Creme

Strain History

Genetics

This hybrid strain has a long and complicated past; its family tree consists of hundreds of strains!

More recently in the tree, though, its genetics can be seen to be a mix of the Blueberry strain with the (Cinderella 99 (C99) x Sour Diesel) strain.

Origin

Thanks to its large family, this strain can be linked back to Afghanistan, Colombia, India, Mexico and Thailand.

Strain Appearance

The bud of Berry Sour Creme has extremely thick, popcorn-shaped green nugs. On top of the nugs lies a layer of resin and fuzzy orange fibers.

Strain Flavor

Unsurprisingly, the flavors in this strain consist of sweetness, sour cream, berries and butter! The Sour Diesel component also adds a smokiness to the flavor and compliments the sweet creaminess.

Strain Cannabinoids

The Berry Sour Creme hybrid THC content ranges from 15% – 21%, so has an average content of 18% THC.

It’s also got a 70/30 Sativa/Indica level.

Strain Terpenes

Caryophyllene can be found in the Sour Diesel strain; Limonene resides in the C99 strain; and Myrcene is in the Blueberry strain. Thus, all are present in the Berry Sour Creme hybrid.

Strain Side Effects

Positive side effects of smoking this strain include: introspectiveness, happiness, sedation, and peacefulness.

Strain Medical Benefits

This strain is ideal for relieving chronic stress or anxiety, aids depression and insomnia, and can numb the pain of migraines and other chronic pain.

Similarly, if you are looking into marijuana for medical reasons, this strain could help relieve intense mental and physical pain.

3. PANDA OG

Strain History

Genetics

This equal parts Sativa and Indica strain is a mix of the OG Chem strain and the Berry Sour Creme strain.

Origin

Just like its Berry Sour Creme parent, its lineage leads back to Afghanistan, Colombia, India, Mexico and Thailand.

Strain Appearance

The nugs on this strain are dense and green, and have orangey fibers covering them. There is a whiteness to the appearance of this strain thanks to the little trichomes that cover the nugs.

Strain Flavor

The sour berry flavor combines with the spicy tanginess of the OG Chem strain, to leave a semi sour fruity flavor on your tongue while you smoke.

Strain Cannabinoids

The THC content in Panda OG is at least 18%, but can reach 19%. So its average content is 18.5% THC.

Alongside the medium THC content is <1% CBD.

Strain Side Effects

When smoking the Panda OG strain, expect a heady high and a soothing buzz over your body. People smoking this tend to feel relaxed and slightly spaced out. The overall effect can be quite sedating.

Medical Benefits

Alongside the side effects come medical benefits, including: reducing anxiety, treating appetite loss, reducing muscle aches and arthritis, and helping those that struggle with insomnia.

Strain Review

If you love a fruity flavor and a relaxing high, it might be time to try the Panda OG strain.

Similarly, if you are struggling with stress or anxiety, or need help getting to sleep, smoking this strain could benefit you greatly. The Panda OG strain is also usually best smoked at nighttime.

Strain Grow Information

Growing this strain can be quite challenging, as it thrives exclusively in a warm, dry, and sunny climate. This means the growing difficulty is rated as difficult.

Strain Flowering Time

9-10 weeks.

Strain Yield

medium (unless grown in ideal sunny conditions, which could lead to a high yield)

4. Grunk

Strain History

Genetics

Descending from strains including Colombian Landrace and Mendo Purps, the parents of this strain are the Grape Ape and Skunk #1 strains. Hence the name Grunk!

Origin

The Grunk strain has ties to Colombia, Afghanistan and Thailand, and probably a few other countries, too!

Strain Appearance

The green nugs on this bud are shaped like small spades, and – like the Berry Sour Creme strain – the nugs are covered in orangey fibers and trichomes.

Strain Flavor

As one of its parents is the Grape strain, there is a distinct grape flavor in this hybrid. The Skunk #1 brings a muskiness to the flavor, and compliments the fruitiness with an earthy feel. The aftertaste is long-lasting after smoking.

Strain Cannabinoids

The THC in Grunk ranges from 20%-24%, so the average level is 22% THC.

As is common in Phat Panda strains, the Grunk strain contains <1% CBD.

Strain Terpenes

There are three terpenes present in the Grape Ape strain: myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene. In Skunk #1, myrcene and pinene are also present. All three are therefore within the Grunk strain.

Strain Side Effects

The relatively high THC level of the strain promises a hard-hitting effect. What begins as a heady high becomes a feeling of happiness, which reduces any mental discomfort. The overall effect is calming and tranquil.

Medical Effects

Thanks to the uplifting effects of smoking Grunk, it can aid with reducing anxiety and stress, as well as depression and other low moods. Alongside the mental benefits, smoking this strain can help to ease pain.

Strain Review

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing high, or are seeking an escape from any mental turmoil, the Grunk strain is widely praised for its soothing effects. If it helps both mental and physical symptoms, it is a win-win for me!

Strain Growing Information

Growing Grunk requires patience; it needs to be grown outdoors in sunlight. Because of this, it is rated as moderately difficult to grow.

Flowering Time

8-10 weeks

Strain Yield

medium to high, depending on conditions
