WIRE: Tommy Chong talks about his intimate battle with cancer on radio show

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — For the first time since beating his diagnosis of rectal cancer, Tommy Chong shares his intimate story about how cannabis helped him to beat the disease and improve his quality of life. In this exclusive, premiere episode, Chong updates his fans about his recovery process following surgery for rectal cancer. The uplifting and uncensored podcast shares the details of his cancer journey during a conversation with his son Paris.

“Cannabis, it’s always been good and it’s always been good for you and is good for me,” said Chong. “What we’re going to do is educate people…what we want to teach you is, we have to respect it and teach people to do the same…We want to touch on the funny in the new podcast and that’s good. But we want to do something different so we can touch your soul, make an impact in people’s lives to help change and unify this world with this unifying plant. This is our goal with this new podcast.”

Tommy Chong originally gained notoriety as one-half of the all-star comedy duo “Cheech and Chong” where he won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. He also directed and co-starred in eight hit Cheech and Chong motion pictures. In 2006 he penned the New York Times Best-Seller “The I Chong: Meditations from the Joint” and most recently he finished as a semi-finalist in season 19 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
