Gushers are a hybrid marijuana, and it is as delicious as it sounds! It is named after the candy for it’s sour tropical flavors. If you have ever had a gusher then you can already taste the flavor of this strain.

Gushers Strain Review

Potency

You can identify Gushers by their green buds, amber hairs and hits of purple coloring dotted throughout the foliage. You could even say that Gushers are just as much of a show-off as their names sake.

Gushers have THC levels with a relatively large range of 15-25% potency, so it would be best to check the label on your packaging to see how effective your version is.

What Is Gushers Strain?

Gushers has a mixture of 60% indica and 40% sativa by breeding two other types of maijuana together. This mix created a sour tropical fruit flavor with a rich and creamy cookie aftertaste which you can taste in every toke.

The high you receive isn’t as strong as the flavors that come with it, so be prepared for the gushing tang!

How Was Gushers Developed

A company called Cookies Fam Genetics in California had bred Gushers from Triangle Kush and Gelato #41. These parents are both very potent strains with Gelato #41 clocking around 24% and Triangle Kush reaching around 20%, which is why Gushers can reach such big highs too.

It was originally created during a candy strain craze which took the nation. The confectionary appearance and delightful childhood taste were an instant hit.

Taste

On average you’ll be receiving more of a sweet taste overall but that’s not the only flavor that will hit your tongue.

You should also find berry and fruit tones like grape and tropical delights, mixed with a tang of sour at the end. Some of these fruit flavors are similar to oranges which create a real summer combination.

The tangy sourness is stronger when you light a bowl, and so are the creamy notes that come with it.

Odor And Flavor

The aromas of Gushers are a little more herbal and earthy than the flavors suggest. The grape and fruit tones are still dancing in the smoke, but the tropical and sour notes will be more dominant.

This is another reason why we consider Gushers to be a wonderful summertime relaxant, as the tropical flavors burst through with every toke.

Physical Appearance

The leaves of the Gusher strain tend to be a vibrant blend of green and purple. The greens can be as bright as a pear or as dark as a forest, but either way, they create a beautiful piece of art.

The texture is bushy and oval in shape as the amber hairs weave through the greens and violets. We would say that it even has a bit of a crystal effect.

Grow Info

Gushers flower after about 10 to 11 weeks of growth when they are grown indoors, but they only bloom in late October when grown outdoors. They can reach 4 – 5 feet when they are produced inside but a whopping 6 feet when allowed to grow outside.

If you have enough light, you will find that this bushy plant is easy to cultivate, and because of its naturally bush pattern, you don’t need to worry about training them in their growth.

We suggest using the lollipopping method to help the bush with airflow, as you can expect the dense foliage to collect pests and disease if left unchecked.

Effects

Gushers are perfect for a night of quiet nothing. It is a super relaxing marijuana with euphoric effects on both your mind and body.

Of course, everyone will experience the high differently, but most people find that Gushers are perfect for a Netflix and chill kind of evening. And when we say chill, we mean actually chill.

You can expect a slight tingle in your head after a short period of time, and this tingling effect will travel down your body as it absorbs the Gushers. As it reaches each part of your body, you’ll notice an inspiring euphoric sensation leaving you aroused with pleasure.

Side Effects

Because of the possible high of 25% in potency, anyone who is new to smoking any kind of marijuana should take this strain slowly. Ideally, you should have someone with you just in case that euphoric high becomes too much.

Due to the super relaxed feeling, some users feel sedated and drowsy, causing them to literally not be able to get off the couch. This is why we suggest Gushers should only be used when you have nothing to do that day or when it’s close to nighttime.

Medical Appointments

Gushers are more than just a recreational high; they have some fantastic medical benefits too. If you suffer from anxiety, depression, or chronic pain, the calming effect can relax your body and your mind to relieve you from these tensions.

Particularly those who suffer from chronic pain will be thankful for this strain as the sense of ease also creases your appetite, which is perfect for those who often forget to eat due to their pain.

Similar Strains

If you are interested in the candy-like flavor of the Gusher, then you might also enjoy Runtz, Zkittlez, and Wowzers which were also created in the candy craze.

If you are after more variations on relaxation, we suggest trying Purple Widow, Butter OG, or Triple Chocolate Chip.

Strain Cannabinoids

Gushers are 60% indica and 40% sativa, making them an indica hybrid. Indicas are one of the most common strains of cannabinoids, and they have the iconic leaf shape associated with marijuana. Indica has high levels of THC, which is one reason why Gushers have the same potency.
