Blueberry Haze Strain Review

Blueberry haze is a hybrid combination of two very popular strains – haze and blueberry.

Blueberry Haze Strain Review

It’s a good choice for daytime use, so if you’re shopping around for some new options to try then blueberry haze is highly recommended as it’s an ideal blend of boosting your energy whilst relaxing your body at the same time.

Potency

Blueberry haze is renowned for its potency, so those who don’t know their tolerance or who have never tried blueberry haze before should be careful when trying it for the first time.

It has a base of 60% sativa, with 40% indica, and has an outstanding THC level of over 18% sometimes, which is what tends to overwhelm people and put them off when they first try it.

When consumed in moderation it’ll give someone an uplighting effect on the mood and create clarity. However, due to the dominant sativa makeup, the body high can be too much for some.

Blueberry haze will hit a smoker quickly, so take your time between drags, not only to savor the taste but to monitor the cerebral stimulation that will occur.

What Is Blueberry Haze Strain?

How Was Blueberry Haze Developed?

This strain is a cross between the parent strains blueberry (indica strain) and haze (sativa strain) that is capable of flipping your mood whilst also keeping your body nice and relaxed.

Blueberry haze is more of a modern-day strain that was developed in the Netherlands, although some people speculate that the iconic DJ Short (the creator of blueberry strain) would have dabbled in this hybrid.

Taste

The strain has a distinct sweet fruity flavor from the blueberry with a woody aftertaste. You’ll be able to taste the slight tart but sweetness of the blueberry and even cherry when you begin to exhale.

Odor & Flavor

Blueberry has a particularly inviting fragrance, especially when compared to other strains within the marijuana family. It has a distinctive blueberry and fruity aroma which aligns with a pungent skunk odor that has hints of freshly cut grass, with lemon and a touch of vanilla.

Those who comment about disliking the smell of pungent skunk dope will much prefer the smell of this if they’re ever in the room.

Physical Appearance

Blueberry haze has a popcorn-like appearance with small to medium-sized flowers and buds. The buds are dense and tightly packed (which is typical of indica strains) and have small leaves that curl inwards towards the stem which makes it look so compact.

This strain tends to have a lighter more mossy green color with hints of amber-colored hairs all over the flowers. Sometimes they’ll have a covering of trichomes which produces a white to silver cast and gives them a sticky texture.

Grow Info

Blueberry haze can be grown indoors and outdoors and seems to thrive in warmer climates, so being grown in the summer is recommended and heat lamps will be needed indoors.

When grown indoors, they will flower within 9 to 10 weeks and when grown outdoors they should be ready to harvest by mid-October. It will require some horticultural skill to grow blueberry haze, so if you’re a novice grower then we’d recommend getting some additional help.

Time will need to be taken to cure your harvested buds to preserve the psychoactive effects of the flowers.

Effects

As blueberry haze is predominantly sativa based, it’ll give the user an uplighting high that will make them more focussed and positive for a few hours during the day.

However, don’t underestimate its indica makeup as the user will still experience some relaxation within their body and help them feel free of stress.

Frequent users find it’s a good strain to have a quick puff off before work, as it won’t make them too dreamy but will start their day off on the right foot and keep them smiling.

It’s a good strain to use in parties and more low-key social situations when people want to let their hair down and have a few giggles without feeling too baked.

The strain can also bring on hunger and will increase your appetite, so feel free to have some munchies around when you’re smoking this, although it will reduce your high.

The best time to use blueberry haze is late afternoon to the evening time, as it’ll energize you during that end of day slump but once the sativa effects have worn off, you’ll begin to feel more sleepy,

Side Effects

Common side effects like dry mouth and dry eyes with noticeable redness may occur when smoking this strain, although this will not be uncommon to frequent smokers and even to those who are new to smoking pot.

Some people can even begin to feel paranoid as a mild side effect as a result of smoking too much at once or for those who’ve never smoked before. This feeling should lift after 30 minutes to an hour.

It’s not uncommon for some users to experience a mild headache, especially if they’re dehydrated whilst smoking, so make sure to drink plenty of water whilst you do smoke.

Those who don’t have a high tolerance for potent strains like this, or those who’ve never used before could experience some dizziness if they inhale too deeply. We’d recommend sitting down the first time you do decide to smoke this and give yourself some time to adapt.

Medical Appointments

Blueberry haze is a great strain for those who struggle with mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD to try as it’ll reduce the negative thoughts and will begin to uplight them once the cerebral and euphoric effects of the sativa kick in.

The indica will relax the body which will also help people to feel comfortable and less stressed throughout the day. This strain can be used to alleviate chronic pain and you’ll commonly find people who use this in place of any prescription medication.

Similar Strains

Any sort of hybrid with blueberry will produce similar effects and will also taste and smell relatively similar. The best ones we recommend are blueberry diesel and blueberry cheesecake.

Strain Cannabinoids

The THC content of blueberry haze can vary from 13% to 18% depending on where you get it from, which can make people feel a bit out of it if they smoke too much.

It only has around 0.2% CBD content. The Sativa/Indica ratio is 40%/60% so it’s a good balance of both euphoria with relaxation which eases tension in the body and will flip the mood.
