Blackberry Cream Strain

Strain History

This Blackberry Cream strain is a genius mix between Blackberry Kush and Cookies Cream. It is an Indica marijuana strain from Exotic Genetix. It contains  70% Indica and 30% Sativa and offers a high that’s intense and enjoyable.

It has considerably high THC levels at 25% which makes this ideal for experienced users, rather than beginners. Caution must be taken, as its effects begin to show slowly, so to avoid being overwhelmed, it is best to take your time with it and of course, enjoy it!

Genetics

Blackberry Cream is a delicious hybrid mix of Blackberry Kush, and Cookies Cream. Blackberry Kush’s smell was known to fill up any room, with a hearty scent of blackberry jam, along with an earthy taste, mixed with sweet blackberries.

Cookies Cream on the other hand carries a rich, sweet vanilla ice cream flavor, along with a sweet scent. Combining these two exquisite strains to make Blackberry Cream has made this a product that everyone is raving about.

Made by breeders Exotic Genetix, who are skilled in making hybrids, this strain will not disappoint.

In addition to its delicious aroma and flavor, this carefully crafted option carries several medicinal benefits such as helping with insomnia and relaxing the body, among many others that will dive into later on.

Origin

Blackberry Cream is one of the most famous hybrid strains that people are going crazy for. Its origin is derived from the exotic mix between Blackberry Krush and Cookies and Cream. This strain was derived in Washington, by breeders Exotic Genetix.

Starting out as a little Hydroponic store in Tacoma Washington, these breeders have won awards for their marijuana strains every year since 2012.

Their unique strains have developed over years of breeding, testing, and studying, and  In 2014 they won the US Cannabis Cup in Denver for making their Cookies and Cream which won Best US Hybrid. It is no surprise that their winner hybrid was then used to make this one, which won’t disappoint.

Strain Appearance

This beautiful plant has purple-toned buds that are filled with orange hairs, along with lovely little trichomes, and a dense structure. They can grow quite tall, so if you would like to grow these privately, it may be best to grow them indoors.

When grown properly, you’ll see their compact and dense, olive green buds contain lovely tones of purple hues all around the round bounds. Their heavy trichomes hint at their strength.

Strain Flavor

It’s not surprising that the flavor of this strain is to die for. It carries a vanilla, sweet and creamy flavor, obviously derived from its Cookies and Cream genetics. These soft and sweet flavors are then balanced out by an earthy spicy tone, preventing too much of a candy-like feel.

As the name suggests and derived from its other parent Blackberry Kush, this strain carries a berry-like, citrus flavor, said to leave a berry ice cream taste on the tongue. Does that sound mouthwatering or what?

Strain Aroma

As if this hybrid couldn’t get any more irresistible, its aroma is the perfect tease before tasting.  The sweetness from the berries, vanilla, and cream, combined with the earthy, spicy notes, make this the perfect combination and a lovely treat to end your day with.

Strain Cannabinoids

This strain is THC dominant, ranging from 20 to 25%, with a percentage of 1.5% CBD. which is what makes it so strong. This makes it great for recreational use as you’ll really feel an intense high with it.

However, the effects do show up slowly so it’s important to take your time with this one to avoid negative effects. Users are recommended to not consume too much in a short amount of time, in order to make the most positive experience possible.

Strain Terpenes

Terpenes are chemical compounds found in these strains that determine their taste and smell. They are also found in other plants, fruits, and herbs and are what give them distinct aromas. The different terpenes found in each strain are what make them different from each other.

The dominant terpene in this strain is limonene, a citrus compound that has a fruity, woodsy pine aroma. This is also found in cleaning products, so you are guaranteed to have a lovely, refreshing smell.

Two other terpenes found in this strain are Caryophyllene, a peppery compound along with linalool, a floral finish. These three compounds are also found in Blackberry Kush, and Caryophyllene and Limonene are also found in Cookies Cream.

It’s safe to say that Blackberry Cream got the best from both its parents.

Strain side effects

As we’ve covered, this is a very strong strain that should be handled with caution even by experienced users. Although not dangerous, there are a few side effects users should be wary of.

A tingling sensation in the body and dry eyes are one side effect, along with a dry, parched mouth. Users are advised that gulping some water can relieve this, and caffeine and alcohol should be avoided to not worsen these effects.

It may make you sleepy as it is also used to treat insomnia, so consumption before bed may be best. If consumed too quickly, its effects could overwhelm the user, so it’s best to take it slow with this one and enjoy.

Medical Benefits

This excellent hybrid strain has an uplifting quality that is known for enhancing the mood and clearing out negative thoughts. This makes it useful in helping people fight depression, anxiety, and stress and helps people feel lighter and happier.

Strain Grow Info

Strain Seeds

It is important to note that Blackberry Cream seeds are not available feminized. If growers would like to increase the chances of the plant developing into females, then pre-germination techniques need to be applied, such as overnight soaking.

You can purchase feminized versions of these seeds, but note they have gone through pre-germination before being sold. These seeds are available in several online seed stores, but be sure to do your research beforehand so you are receiving exactly what it is you are looking for.

Strain Flowering Time

This is a good choice for home growers, who are looking to practice more with home cultivation, as this strain can be grown both indoors and outdoors. They are known to get very tall, so if you’d like to be discrete, then growing them indoors would be best.

However, if this is your choice of strain, and you would like to grow them yourself, some patience is needed as they have an indoor flowering period of 7 to 9 weeks.

If you want to grow them outdoors, you can expect this strain to flower from the last days of September, to the last weeks of October.

Strain Yield

This strain has quite a high yield rate. If done well, you can expect 12 ounces of buds per plant, once it is fully grown.
