Afgooey Strain Review

This strain of plant was cloned from feminized seeds, and gives the user a fast hit that lasts for a long time. Some users have reported that this has made them confused but not too much so.

The buds have a distinctive pear shape, and are compact with a large calyx.

This has very thick resin, giving you everything that you need for a decent high. This has a fruity twist, although some smokers define it as having a very distinctive pine flavor. This is a very strong and vigorous plant.

If you are thinking of growing this strain, it will do really well outdoors in sunlit and humid environments. This performs well in medium climates, having been raised in areas such as North California.

How Was Afgooey Developed?

This plant was first cut in North California, although it is now a clone-only strain. This was developed by reversing the feminized seeds, which were then crossed with the original plant to produce the strain that we have today.

This is an Indica marijuana strain that was thought to have been developed from the Maui Haze and Afghani Indica species. This will take around 8 weeks to flower indoors, so you should make sure that you have plenty of heat lamps.

Taste

A lot of people have described the taste of this strain as very earthy, with a slightly pungent taste that lingers on the tongue long after it has been smoked.

There are also a lot of users who have commented on how piney this plant is, probably owing to the method in which it is grown and distributed.

This strain has been known to enhance creativity, so you should definitely give it a try if you are painting or making music.

It has also been described as having a citrusy-like taste, as it contains orange and hints of tropical fruit. We would recommend enjoying this with contrasting citrus fruit like lime or watermelon to really enjoy the flavors.

This strain also goes very well in brownies, with the fruity notes really complimenting the taste of dark or milk chocolate. You’ll have to be sure to bake this weed in well, although the resin goes very thick and gooey and is definitely pliable enough for you to work with it.

Odor And Flavor

This has a very mild kushy odor, so it won’t leave too harsh an odor on your furniture if you are smoking it indoors. The scent, in much the same way as the taste, is very citrusy.

It has notes of orange and ginger, with a piney smell that will actually add to the ambiance of your home if you are choosing to smoke it.

This also has the scent of lemon, which again is owing to the tropical consistency of the strain and the fruit components. We would also recommend that you bake this one into a light cake such as a sponge, as the scents will complement the natural flavors of the cake.

Physical Appearance

The buds have a very small and dense pear shape. The calyx, which is the collective name for all the buds grouped together, is medium to large in size.

How large the calyx is will affect the flavor and density of the weed, which will, in turn, affect how easy it is to cook and burn.

The resin that is used for cooking and burning is often produced during the early part of the Afgooey flowering. Once the bud has been crumbled, it produces a sticky, light green color with darker green tones.

Grow Info

There are 8 weeks of flowering time both indoors and outdoors with this plant. Inside, you can get a yield of up to 0.9 grams both dry and manicured per watt with 1000W heat lamps.

You’ll want to be sure that you don’t dry the buds out too much under your heat lamp. Keep an eye on them to make sure that the buds remain sticky.

Outside, it will also take about 8 weeks to reach full maturity. You can get very large plants that will create around 1kg of dried and manicured buds.

Effects

Here are some of the effects that have been reported with the Afgooey plant:

  • Euphoria – over 50% of people who have smoked this plant have reported this feeling.
  • Stress relief – around 50% of smokers reported that they have a significant stress reduction after ingesting this.
  • Relaxation
  • Dry eyes – This is only reported in around 17% of users.
  • Insomnia Relief
  • Paranoia – only 11% of users reported this feeling.

Side Effects

The side effects of smoking this weed are very minimal. Some users have reported dry eyes, but this has been a very low reportage. There are also around 1 tenth of users who have reported a mild feeling of paranoia.

There are also feelings of chaotic confusion, which is more common in this type of strain. This has been shown to have a calming rather than an energizing effect on people.

Medical Appointments

This is very good for pain relief in users, with a lot of people reporting that it has significantly reduced joint aching and tiredness. This also helps people with insomnia, with around 30% of users saying that this plant helps them to feel nice and sleepy.

The hit of this marijuana will happen quite quickly, although the actual feeling of the high will last you for a very long time. This is why some people use this one for pain relief.
