As one of our major gadget reviewing partners at CDR, NY Vape Shop has sent us a fantastic array of useful and well-priced items this year. And the latest offering is a great two-product combo.
This time, the vape, glass, grinder and parts shop sent me a fun, easy to use dry herb vaporizer called “Stoner Joe’s dry herb vape,” which retails for $99.99, and the “Razor Sharp Silicon Herb Grinder,” which retails for $39.99 on the site.
The Stoner Joe’s vape is one of the simplest herbal vapes I’ve seen. It’s got three buttons – you push the main one five times to turn it off and on, and you push the plus/minus buttons to set your ideal temperature.
To fill it, you simply push the top of the mouthpiece backwards and it pops off, revealing a large herb chamber that’s ready to go. You want to pack tight, but not too tight – because the material needs a little air flow to burn correctly.
On top of the chamber is a very small screen, which comes with spares and keeps particulate from getting into your lungs. Not all herbal vapes have screens like that, and it’s a pretty small thing, but I like any addition that keeps me from inhaling more gunk.
Another clever addition to the vape is the retractable USB charging device. Usually chargers become a mess of wires and connectors that live in a pile on my desk. But this thing actually snaps back into a well-contained tape-measure like unit when you’re finished with it, making for easy storage and clean up.
For $99, I’d say this is a good deal – especially for folks that want to vape on the go. The main advantages are the ease of use and how comfortable it feels in your hand. I usually set my vapes to 429 degrees F and then push the temperature up a hair if it doesn’t provide enough visible vapor. And this guy works just fine at that temperature.
The Razor Sharp Silicon Herb Grinder is even more welcome in my 420-friendly house. It’s by far my favorite grinder now.
The four-segment silicon grinder feels so much nicer in your hand than metal grinders. The blades are sharp and the layout is well designed. It takes very little twisting to get the material to the right size for vapes or bowls.
The grinder twists together and locks in place without being a real screw-together unit. The pieces hold together well but also pop apart more easily than traditional metal grinders.
It also has the stoner-favorite kief catcher on the bottom – so you can store up some extra trichome goodness to sprinkle on your less potent cannabis later.
At $39.99, it’s a bit on the spendy side for grinders, but after enjoying it for a few weeks I do think that price is worthwhile.
It’s especially nice if you have wrist issues that get irritated by grinding tough product. I have a touch of carpal tunnel syndrome and a ganglion cyst on my wrist, and both are sometimes aggravated by normal metal grinders.
I haven’t had a single issue with either problem while using this grinder, which makes it worth the cost for me. And I’m very likely to buy another one at some point when this one wears out.
If you’re looking for a simple vape or a good grinder, I’d recommend checking out both products at the NY Vape Shop site.
