The Friday Five: Weekend weed music selections from Collie Tunes, July 22, 2016

Welcome to The Friday Five – a weekly weed and music column from Collie Tunes, a Portland company focused on tunes for the cannabis industry.

This column runs every Friday – so keep it right here for more selections, and enjoy!

Selections and comments below by Sean Hocking, owner of Collie Tunes:

1. Smellington Piff – Piff Land

Time for some dank UK weed hip hop styles. They seem to like calling 420 “piff” who knows why !

2. Reverend Horton Heat – Marijuana

We don’t know what the good Rev has been smoking but it definitely hasn’t slowed him down

3. Fela Kuti – Expensive Shit

Fela’s club in Lagos back in the seventies used to be a dope smokers haven. Even the great Ginger Baker was surprised by how much weed they all smoked !

4. Jammer – Burning

A UK based dub grime clash. All the trap kids are listening to this stuff at the moment

5. Lee Perry – Roast Fish Collie Weed & Corn Bread

And this week’s visit to Jamaica turns up a glorious recording from Lee Scratch Perry’s Black Ark years. No Doritos or Twinkies in the world of healthy rasta living just Roast Fish & Cornbread with your Collie Weed
