Sponsored by Leafly.com, the “Cannabis Charity Open” will be held on June 26th at Park Hill Golf Club, in Denver, Colorado. Over 22 sponsors, most being companies involved in the cannabis business community, have come together to support the event and the Denver Colorado AIDS Project.
“We are thrilled to be hosting an event that supports such a great charity in our community, and show that cannabis businesses are passionate about giving back to the people of Denver and being philanthropic. With the recent tragedy in Orlando, we feel there could not be a better time to show the LGBT community that we stand behind them.” – Luke Ramirez, Premium Pete’s Cultivation and tournament director
“Empowering medical patients is at the very core of Leafly’s mission, and we’re proud to be involved with an event dedicated to providing medical patients access to the care they need.” – Paul Campbell, Leafly VP of Marketing
The tournament is expected to bring over 80 guests and participants, and will feature a silent auction open to the public. The scramble-format makes the event enjoyable for golfers of any skill level. Shotgun start begins at 1:30pm, with games and prizes will be awarded throughout the event; the awards ceremony begins at 5:30pm. All participants must be at least 21 years of age.
Andrew Kimmell from the Denver Colorado AIDS Project also had this to say about the event, “The mission of the Colorado AIDS Project is to equitably meet the evolving needs of people affected by HIV and other disease through prevention, care and advocacy. We have several locations for an STD check, and support over 4,100 people living with HIV annually. Services include case management, behavioral health counseling, health insurance enrollment assistance, housing resources, emergency financial and transportation assistance, and food banks.
We would like to thank The Hemp Connoisseur Magazine, Premium Pete’s Cultivation, and their sponsors for coming together to raise funds for what they and their supporters see as being valuable work being offered to support the local Denver and statewide communities in Colorado. ”
