Strain Sheet: Platinum GSC from Phat Panda (Washington)

Platinum GSC from Phat Panda

Reviewer: Sue Vorenberg
Strain: Platinum GSC (Hybrid of OG Kush, Durban Poison and an unknown strain)(Sold at The Herbery)
Grower: Phat Panda
Onset time: About three minutes to kick in
Fade: About an hour and 10 minutes
Strength: Medium to strong
Tingling (where did you feel it): Temples, cheeks, upper back, feet, shins, biceps.
Control (can you maintain focus, etc): Nice light and loose feel to the high. Relaxed and mellow, but I can focus just fine.
Emotions: Happy, upbeat, peaceful
Paranoia: No
Energy level: Midrange. I could see this as a decent one for a party – an alternative to hanging out around the keg.
Smell: A little flowery, but in preroll form, it’s a bit hard to smell.
Relieves: Anxiety, bad mood, nervousness.
Positives: Lovely strain for getting out in the sun, chatting with friends or neighbors. Just a nice happy fun vibe.
Negatives: None.
Other notes: Phat Panda is one of only a handful of preroll makers that I actually really like (another is Cedar Creek). The fill is actually ground flower bud, not the mystery shake that goes into many other prerolls. I usually prefer buying straight flower, because you can see the quality of the material before you smoke it – but I trust Panda – their preroll quality is consistently good and the flower burns well. Also – here’s a tip – if you want to only smoke part of a joint and then put it out without crushing it – try popping it, lit side up, back into the plastic container it came in and sealing it. That cuts the oxygen off, which puts the joint out quickly without having to crush it.
