Reviewer: Sue Vorenberg
Strain: Legal CBD Peace Tonic (Cranberry flavored 10 mg CBD, 10 mg THC soda)
Grower: Mirth Provisions (Longview, WA)(Available at retailers throughout Washington)
Onset time: About an hour to an hour and a half after drinking for the full effects to kick in.
Fade: About four and a half hours.
Strength: A whole soda was medium for me. Newcomers may want to start with half a soda and wait a few hours to see how they feel, since the effects of edibles can be a bit more erratic than those from smoking.
Tingling (where did you feel it): Shoulders, upper arms, upper back, cheeks.
Control (can you maintain focus, etc): Lightheaded euphoria, but I can function and concentrate just fine.
Emotions: Peaceful, calm, relaxed.
Paranoia: No
Energy level: Mid range. Good for hanging out or taking a walk. Might be good for post-workout to get your mojo back as well.
IMG_8596Taste: Cranberry soda – yum! No weed taste at all.
Relieves: Back and shoulder aches. Felt great after messing my back up while sitting at the Washington county caucus waiting to vote for over 10 hours.
Positives: I really love these things as a beer alternative. I quit drinking about three years ago and sometimes it’s a little awkward at parties. With these, I can hang out with my beer friends and not feel out of place. That and no hangovers – woohoo!
Negatives: None.
Other notes: I asked one of my budtender friends why they’d pick a THC-only drink over one with both CBD and THC and they told me that the CBD can cut down on the THC head high. CBD is great for body pain and generally just chilling out. But if you want a stronger head high, the THC-only ones may be a better option. Personally, I prefer the CBD mix, though. It’s great on the 40-something aches and pains and puts me in a great mood.
