Acapulco Gold from Vashon Velvet of Washington
Strain: Acapulco Gold (Sativa descendant of the Mexican landrace strain)(Sold at Greenhead Cannabis)
Grower: Vashon Velvet (Vashon Island, Washington)
Onset time: About two minutes (took two hits)
Fade: About an hour and 20 minutes
Strength: Medium to strong
Tingling (where did you feel it): Starts with a light euphoric head feel, spreads to full face tingles, shoulders, upper back.
Control (can you maintain focus, etc): Good. Easy to regain but the euphoria is great.
Emotions: Happy and relaxed, nostalgic.
Energy level: Good. Ready to groove out. Lots of energy.
Smell: Musky, earthy.
Relieves: Seasonal affective disorder, shoulder strain.
Positives: Bright feel to the high (everything looks brighter), very happy buzz. Good social function and the feel of a nice deep shoulder rub. Very functional daytime buzz with a good energy kick.
Negatives: May be too energetic or jittery for some folks.
Other notes: Buds are non-dense and fluffy (I’m assuming it’s a strain thing). I’ve been eager to try Acapulco Gold – it’s one of those classic hippie strains that’s damn near impossible to find on the rec market. $49 for 2.15 grams is pretty steep (I’d call it too spendy except for the fact that this strain is so hard to find – it’s worth the cost at least once for the experience.) Great for getting your hippie groove on – I cranked up Yes “Starship Trooper” a few times. Where’s my 8-track?
