The Herbery has partnered with The Analog Cafe and Theater in Portland to bring “A Burlesque Nightmare Before Christmas” to Analog’s fall lineup.
The show will feature a wide array of director Tim Burton’s work, recasting scenes from “Pee Wee Herman,” “A Nightmare Before Christmas” and other shows and films in the burlesque style, said Donnie Rife, the theater owner.
“It’s essentially girls and boys stripping as their favorite Tim Burton characters,” Rife said with a laugh. “It’s all burlesque.”
Jim Mullen, chief operating officer at The Herbery, said his company decided to support the show both as a way to reach out to the Portland community and as an effort to help Analog continue to provide a cannabis-enthusiast focused entertainment lineup at the theater.
“Donnie Rife also facilitated Sir Mix-A-Lot’s appearance in our store and opened the opportunity for us to sponsor that show,” Mullen said. “Analog Cafe is very popular, and we think that our customers will enjoy the show, and we also hope some new customers will come to visit our store after seeing it.”
The Herbery will have street teams in Portland handing out flyers for the event – which include a 10 percent off discount at The Herbery’s two locations at 212 NE 164th Ave. or 6018 NE St. John’s Rd, Ste. D in Vancouver.
“Whoever brings those in can get 10 percent off any one item, including glass,” Mullen said.
Visitors can’t use cannabis at the Analog Cafe, but Rife said they’re welcome to consume prior to attending the show – although he cautioned that visitors shouldn’t smoke and drive.
“It’s a pro-weed community here for sure,” Rife said. “And this is a great show for that.”
Tickets are $12 at the door and can also be purchased through Analog’s website here: http://www.analogpdx.com/shows.html
Shows begin at 6 p.m. on Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, Dec. 20 and Dec. 27. The Analog Cafe and Theater is located at 720 S.E. Hawthorne in Portland.
