Strain Sheet: Northern Jack from Cascade Farms

Northern Jack from Cascade Farms

Reviewer: SueVo
Strain: Northern Jack (Hybrid – cross of Northern Lights and Jack Herer)(Sold at Gras in Portland, Oregon)
Grower: Cascade Farms (Oregon grower)
Onset time: About two minutes
Fade: About an hour and 20 minutes
Strength: Medium
Tingling (where did you feel it): Forehead, shoulders, feet, ears, palms
Control: Head is foggy – it’s a bit hard to concentrate on this one.
Emotions: Relaxed, chill, mellow
Paranoia: No
Energy level: Moderate – not sleepy but not jittery either.
Smell: Earthy, pungent, berry
Relieves: Muscle cramps.
Positives: Nice body and head relaxation. Very in-the-moment haze-ish strain.
Negatives: Smoke wasn’t harsh (no burning throat or anything), but it made me cough more than usual. Also the packaging (plastic bag with a stick-on label that fell off) leaves something to be desired – but I bought it on the opening day of rec sales in Portland so I imagine the bag was just a quick fix as the shop works out the kinks.
Other notes: I was told Cascade Farms uses all organic practices, and despite the coughing the smoke tastes clean and has a nice aftertaste (if you like the taste of pot smoke, anyway). It kind of does a head vice squeeze – not painful or anything, just part of the tingle effect, sort of like Headband. I took it after a long bike ride and it helped with the sore muscles. Might also be a good one for house cleaning if I had a bit more energy. It also reminded me a little of the feel of Gorilla Glue #4. Nice overall feel for my first Portland recreational strain.
