Inspired by one of the most dangerous creatures in the ocean, The Green House decided to create this Sativa-dominant strain of cannabis to pay homage to the Great White Shark, which is a shark that lives in a variety of our world’s waters and poses a great danger to us humans.
So, while this particular strain of cannabis isn’t going to follow in the footsteps of the dangerous predator it has been named after, this strain certainly shouldn’t be underestimated, because the White Shark strain is a notoriously powerful strain of cannabis that has quite the kick!
For that reason, while it might not be the best option for someone who is just getting started out, it will be a great option for an experienced user who can handle the high levels of THC present.
To follow, White Shark is a mostly Sativa-leaning hybrid strain that incorporates two different Sativa’s hailing from South America and South India, as well as the classic favorite Super Skunk.
Otherwise referred to as Great White Shark, White Shark was one of the most popular types of hybrid cannabis in the ’90s, and even won an award in 1997.
In the present day, White Shark is back on the rise and has started to become more readily available thanks to it regaining some of its former popularity.
Genetics
White Shark is a powerful Sativa-dominant strain of cannabis that was first created by the breeder known as The Green House. It is made of a cross between two Sativa strains that hail from Brazil and India, as well as the popular strain Super Skunk.
Typically, the THC levels of White Shark are known for being relatively high, although levels can vary from yield to yield.
Origin
As we have already briefly touched upon above, White Shark was initially introduced by breeder The Green House sometime in the 90s, and it was an instant success.
It combines elements of two Sativa strains that come from South America as well as South India, as well as an Indica-dominant strain that you might have already tried yourself – Super Skunk.
During its initial success in the 1990s, White Shark was given a variety of other names (including Great White Shark and Peacemaker) and also received a variety of awards during the 1990s period.
Strain Appearance
Easy to spot among other strains of cannabis, this Sativa-hybrid certainly stands out from the crowd thanks to its uniquely round buds that are adorned with eye catching calyxes that are soft and fluffy to the touch.
As for the pistils? They’re vibrant and striking and are usually shades of rich golden orange and deep red that are their most beautiful while harvesting.

If you’re the type of person who likes to smoke discreetly – then the White Shark might not be the best option for you!
This is because White Shark is an incredibly aromatic strain of cannabis that has an extremely potent citrus aroma enhanced by refreshing notes of lavender, clove, and even a touch of pine.
Not only that, but this citrusy-woodsy aroma will only be intensified whenever you pull off a nug, so this is something to keep in mind if you don’t want anyone to know.

As a side note, given the fact that the levels of THC can often vary in White Shark, it’s a good idea to make sure that you are doing your research prior to purchasing any, especially if you do not have an overly strong THC tolerance and don’t want to experience a bad high.

The most common terpene that is found present in White Shark is myrcene, but pinene and caryophyllene are also present… which helps to explain the deliciously sweet and fruity fragrance of White Shark!
Strain Side Effects
As with all other strains of cannabis, there are a variety of side effects that you should be made aware of prior to trying it out for yourself. In particular, White Shark is known for having (on average) a very high level of THC present inside its makeup, so if you do decide to try it there is a strong chance that you will experience dry mouth, itchy eyes, nausea, and potentially even dizziness, too.
It should also be noted that due to the high THC level, White Shark might also induce feelings of anxiety and panic. For this reason, we do not recommend using this strain if you are not experienced in using cannabis.
However, if you would like to try it and don’t have an overly strong tolerance to THC, we recommend that you try a yield of White Shark that has a lower level of THC (some of the lowest levels we’ve come across are 12%) and make sure that you try it in a safe environment with people that you trust.
In addition to that, you should also make sure to have water nearby, as this strain might cause you to feel thirsty.

Although, if you’re a first-time user, we recommend that you refrain from jumping in the deep end too soon (pardon the pun) and work on building your THC tolerance prior to trying White Shark.
Strain Grow Info
White Shark grows best in a controlled, indoor environment, such as in a hydroponic growing environment.
It’s a hungry plant that requires plenty of nutrients in order to grow, and if given the proper conditions, it will thrive and produce an abundant yield at the end of its flowering period – which is between 8-10 weeks.
Usually, White Shark will be ready to be picked and used towards the middle to end of the month of October.
Strain Seeds
If you have some White Shark seeds to hand and you’d like to try growing them yourself, then we strongly recommend that you opt to grow them in an indoor environment, as White Shark seeds do not fare overly well in an outdoor environment.
However, if you would like to grow your White Shark seeds outside, then you will need to ensure that you are ensuring they are getting everything they need to flower, as White Shark seeds are known for requiring a lot of nutrients on a consistent basis during the flowering process/duration.

The typical flowering time for White Shark seeds is around 8-10 weeks.
Strain Yield
If your White Shark plants are grown in optimal indoor conditions, then you can expect to have a fruitful harvest of around 35-37 ounces per plant! This is incredibly impressive, and one of the largest yield-abilities of all strains of cannabis out there.
